Below are two videos of Portland I came across in the last two days. The first is a video highlighted on Oregonlive.com and the second is a video I came across on CNN.com. Both are time-lapse videos made from many different shots in Portland. What I love about the first one (by Uncage the Soul Productions) is that it incorporates a lot of people and events in their shots (such as the Shamrock Run and Portland Timbers games), as well as some great landscape/scenery shots. The second is from a Portland photographer (John Eklund) and it’s a lot of scenery. Since I won’t be able to make any Portland posts until June when I visit next these videos are a compromise and a way to highlight a lot of the things I love about Portland. Even when the skies are gray or the ground was covered in snow Portland still is really beautiful, as the videos show.
There are shots from high up in the hills to down low on the river. I thought the river shots in both videos were spectacular, but I also loved the shot from the hill right above my alma matter Lincoln High School in Elklund’s video. I really liked that Uncage’s video incorporated shots from nearby, like in the Gorge, and again cool event/people shots. I can’t wait to be back in June and see those hills, mountains, and rivers, especially in the beautiful sun! Look forward to an explosion of posts about Portland but until then Portlanders and others check out the videos below!
Finding Portland from Uncage the Soul Productions on Vimeo.
